University of Trento
Founded in 1962, the University of Trento is one of the younger Italian universities, but has built a strong reputation in research, quality teaching, and internationalisation.It has about 16,000 students, with 10-11 academic departments covering areas including engineering, natural sciences, humanities, law, social sciences, cognitive science, economics & management, information engineering, environmental sciences, etc.Several research centres are active, such as the Centre for Integrative Biology (CIBIO), the Centre for Mind/Brain Sciences (CIMeC), and others.Trento is noted for its high quality of life: scenic environment (near the Alps / Dolomites), strong student services, good rankings among medium-sized universities, and strong international cooperation.
